Claude.ai is Anthropic's AI assistant — one of the most capable on the market for reasoning, writing, and analysis. Signing up is free and takes less than 5 minutes.

Available registration methods

Claude.ai offers three ways to create an account:

1. Email + password — Classic: enter your email, choose a password, verify the address.
2. Continue with Google — Quick access with your Google account, no extra password to remember.
3. Continue with Apple — Sign in with Apple ID, with an option to "Hide My Email".

Tip: If you already use Gmail or Google Workspace, Google login is the most convenient — no additional passwords and instant access.

Step 1 — Go to claude.ai

Open your browser and navigate to claude.ai.

You'll see the homepage with the "Claude" logo and login buttons. If you're already logged into a session, it will redirect you directly to the chat. Otherwise, you'll see the welcome screen.

Click the "Sign up" button (top right or center of the page).

Step 2 — Choose your sign-up method

On the registration screen you have three options. Choose whichever you prefer:

With Google (recommended)

1. Click "Continue with Google".
2. Select your Google account from the list (or enter your email if not shown).
3. Google will ask you to authorize Claude — click "Allow".

You'll be taken directly to the phone verification step (Step 3).

With email

1. Enter your email in the field.
2. Click "Continue".
3. Claude will send you an email with a verification code (6 digits). Open it and enter the code.
4. Choose a password (minimum 8 characters, at least 1 uppercase + 1 number recommended).
5. Click "Continue".

Step 3 — Verify your phone number

This step is mandatory for all new accounts (it's Anthropic's anti-spam measure).

1. Enter your phone number with the international country code.

- US: select +1 from the menu and enter your 10-digit number.

1. Click "Send code".
2. You'll receive an SMS with a 6-digit code within a few seconds.
3. Enter the code and click "Verify".

SMS not received? Check that you entered the correct number. Wait 30 seconds, then click "Resend code". If you use a VoIP number (like Skype), it may not work — use a real mobile number.

Step 4 — Complete your profile

After verification, Claude asks you to complete your profile with:

• Name (how you want Claude to address you)
• How you'll use Claude (personal, work, education, etc.)

This data helps Anthropic improve the service. It doesn't affect Claude's responses (you can customize behavior later through profile settings).

Click "Continue" to finally access the chat.

To get started, the free plan is perfect. Claude Sonnet is already an excellent model for the vast majority of tasks. You'll upgrade to Pro when you need more complex responses, Projects, or a high volume of messages.

Recommended settings after registration

Before you start chatting, do these two things:

1. Set up your profile

Go to Settings → Profile (icon in the bottom left) and add:

• Your name (so Claude addresses you by name)
• Your profession or main use case
• Any permanent system instructions ("Always respond in English", "Be concise", etc.)

2. Choose the interface language

Claude.ai is available in multiple languages. If the interface is in a language you don't prefer, go to Settings → General → Language and select your preferred option.

Note: The interface language is separate from the language you use to talk to Claude. You can have the interface in English but write prompts in French (or any other language).

Already have an account? Enterprise SSO

If your company uses Anthropic for Teams or Enterprise, there may be a separate SSO login. In that case, use the link your IT admin provided instead of registering individually.
